Matt has been a professional musician for the last 30+ years. He has 10 of his own albums and has played, toured and recorded with countless bands. On one side, driven by 50’s and 60’s instrumental music Matt Foy will take you on a cinematic journey through dust bowls, dive bars and speedways. If Ennio Morricone, Link Wray, Ed ‘Big Daddy’ Roth and Daniele Luppi formed a band it might sound a little like Matt Foy.  On another side is Matt’s love for old school reggae and ska music. Influenced by the greats (Toots & The Maytals, Desmond Dekker, Bob Marley) Matt also fell in love with Montreal and Toronto’s reggae scene and started writing his own island music. Recently Matt has been scoring for film and television again expanding on his love for instrumental music. Along with tv placements Matt scored the soundtrack for award winning Dancing Is Meaningless. Matt Foy is a recipient of Northern Lights Festival Boréal’s Jackie Washington award. This award is granted to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the arts & culture of Northern Ontario and embodies the spirit of the festival in their artistic pursuits. Matt received video of the year at the NOMFA awards for Outlaw. Matt was a nominee for Mayor’s Contribution to the Arts (Sudbury Arts Council) and Album of the Year (MFM Awards)
