Tia Brazda’s jazz-pop gems and bold style have made a sparkling impression from Montreux to Montreal, paying homage to the golden era while remaining daringly modern. Her music has been described as both “a hip pastiche” and “a walking catalog of 20th century jazz styles”, and No Depression magazine says she is “truly an original”. Having honed her unique sound in the clubs of Toronto, she burst onto the scene in 2012 with her electro-swing inspired Cabin Fever, debuting at #1 on the iTunes Canada Jazz Chart and receiving airplay across Canada and Europe, where she toured in support. In 2015 she followed up with the full-length Bandshell, which also debuted at #1 and was ranked the #5 best Canadian jazz release of 2015 by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto. The album also hit #24 on the CMJ national radio chart in the U.S. In 2016 she released an electro-swing version, called Bandshell Remixed, featuring DJs from around the globe, which made the Best of 2016 list on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6. In 2018, she released her latest album Daydream, which also debuted at #1 and finds her moving effortlessly from the bossa nova of the title track and the soul-inspired "Right On Time", to the cool jazz of “Perfect Distraction” and the tango-infused French chanson “Un amour bohème”. Brazda has performed at such festivals as the Montreux Jazz Festival, Festival International de Jazz de Montreal (main stage), Vancouver Jazz Festival, TD Toronto Jazz Festival, Bestival (UK), Iboga Summer Festival (Spain), Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival and San Jose Summer Jazz Festival (rated "Best of the Fest").
