R&B/Soul, Singer/Songwriter, Pop
Singer-Songwriter and Toronto native, Kelsey Vaz, has been honing her skills in creating emotionally powered R&B since 2016. With new material in the works, her sultry vocals, neo-soul sounds and rich lyrical ability are heating up the Toronto music scene. Vaz, drawing her inspiration from her own experiences and personal relationships, attributes her unique sound to 90s era Hip-hop, Neo-soul and Pop. She is a storyteller by nature. Accompanied by rhythmic production and live instruments, Vaz serenades you using an arsenal of tones, storylines and emotion. This 25-year-old songstress started making music at the age of 12, replacing karaoke songs with her own words. In 2017, Vaz released her first single called Focus, followed by 5 more songs including Raindrops in 2019. Her songs can be heard on Flow 93.5 Toronto Take Over and Spotify playlists like Viral Hits Canada and New Music Friday. Vaz draws inspiration from Stevie Wonder, Brandy and Beyonce. Her most recent achievements include providing backing vocals for the Daniel Caesar Freudian album and tour in 2017, selling out her first headlining show in Ottawa, writing top 4 songs for CBC Searchlight, participating in Honey Jam and recently graduating from the Remix Project. Vaz is currently working on her debut project Rogue, set to be released in the spring of 2020.
