Aiza Ntibarikure

Jun 15, 2020

Born and raised in bilingual Montreal to Burundian immigrants, Toronto-based singer Aiza is the quintessential 21st Century Canadian pop artist. Her music captures the spirit of diversity with an equal mixture of throwback r&b and fresh afro rhythms, while her explosive live performances abound with positive energy and charisma. In autumn 2019 Aiza was declared winner of the prestigious Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class, and earlier in the year she won “Francophone Artist of the Year” at the 3rd annual Dynasty Gala Awards, in large part due to the critical success of her debut EP “Adieu.” At the beginning of 2019, Aiza performed at the 9th annual She Rocks Awards in Los Angeles alongside music heavyweights Divinity Roxx (Beyoncé's former musical director and bassist) and Kat Dyson (former guitarist in Prince's New Power Generation). She also began writing music with LA-based producer Mario Marchetti, whose credits include Demi Lovato’s Billboard Top 10 single “Neon Lights.” Aiza’s music has been placed on numerous TV series including Netflix’s Tuca & Bertie, CBC's Kim's Convenience, and Fox’s Paradise Hotel. Alongside her music career, Aiza is a seasoned actor. She can be seen in the 2018 feature film “On The Basis of Sex” starring Felicity Jones, and is a new series regular on both Netflix’s original superhero series “Jupiter’s Legacy” as well as CBC’s hit sitcom “Workin’ Moms.”
